Introduction

Background

I am Eija Wegelius from Läyliäinen, Finland. Together with my husband my family includes 8 children and at the moment 7 dogs. I have bred German Shepherd Dogs (GSD) since -86 with kennel name "Barwaxan".

During these years we have received the following titles:

• EUROPEAN WINNER DOG SHOW 2006 BIS 1 BREEDER
• BEST FINNISH BREEDER 2006 (all breeds)
• several BIS breeders classes (all breeds) and several special show breeders class wins
• World Winner
• 3 x European Winner
• 2 x Copenhagen Winner
• 4 x Nordic Winner
• 6 x Junior Winner,
• Winner 2004, 2005, 2006
• Newsky junwinner and winner
• VA Barwaxan Å´riginal 2006 (Belarus)
• and many victories in specialty shows.

Still the most valued title came in 1999: Champion of Champions.

Our goals

I aim to breed healthy German Shepherd Dogs (GSD) with compliance to the standards set for GSD. My goal is healthy, strong nerved and beatiful GSD.

The dogs that I breed are long and well-balanced, have strong top-lines, and move well. They have good colors and most importantly they are strong nerved so that they can live as members of modern society and work willingly.

To reach these standards all my litters are well planned with time and knowledge.

In my opinion a breeder that focuses only to breed "show-" or "workdogs" is mistaken. GSDs should be able to excel in both.
